Ceiliúradh CEIST 2025
The annual Ceiliúradh CEIST day was celebrated last Friday the 31st of January in our school.
Ceiliúradh day celebrates our rich, shared heritage, our common values and the uniqueness of our school St. Joseph’s within the CEIST community.
The theme for this year’s day was ‘Home, School and Parish – Working together’.
For the occasion, a special mural of St. Brigid was created by the students in our school.
Each student, during RE class, decorated a square piece of paper with different designs and symbols. These were then assembled by Ms. Prendergast and her TY class to form a wonderful creation of St Brigid’s cloak.
The art piece is made up of over 500 individually designed squares.
This was displayed in the school's sacred space for the day of celebration but it was also displayed in Castlebar Parish Church over the bank holiday weekend- a wonderful collaboration between school and parish.
The Ceiliúradh prayer, ‘The Calling’ was also prayed over the intercom as part of our celebrations on the day, as we took a moment as a school to reflect on its meaning.
Thank you to the students who read the prayer so beautifully and to our musicians who concluded our reflection with a traditional air.
